Privacy Policy

Influence IRL ("we," "us," "our") operates the influence-irl.app website and the marketplace connecting brands and agencies with creators for in-person campaigns. Influence IRL is currently operated as an individual, unincorporated business. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

If you join the waitlist: your email address, whether you're a brand or a creator, and your city if you provide one.

If you create an account: your email, password (stored securely and never visible to us in plain text — this is handled by our authentication provider, Supabase), display name, city, and whether you're a brand or a creator.

If you're a brand posting a campaign: the campaign details you submit — title, category, budget, platforms, location, dates, description, and an optional photo.

If you're a creator applying to a campaign: your handle, platform, follower count, city, and the pitch you submit.

Automatically, from anyone visiting the site: basic, anonymized traffic and performance data through Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights. These do not use cookies and cannot be used to identify you individually — visitors are represented as an anonymized hash, not a persistent profile, and this data is automatically discarded after 24 hours. Separately, if you sign in, we use one essential cookie to keep you signed in — this is required for the site to function and isn't used for tracking or advertising.

How we use it

To run the waitlist and notify you when the board opens in your city; to operate your account and the marketplace itself — showing campaigns to creators, showing applicants to the brand who posted a campaign; to communicate with you about your account or a campaign you're involved with; and to understand and improve how the site is used.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers. We do use third-party infrastructure providers to run the site, who process data on our behalf: Supabase (our database, authentication, and file storage) and Vercel (hosting and anonymized analytics). These providers can access data only as needed to provide their service to us.

Within the product itself, some information is visible to other users by design: a brand can see the applications (including pitch, handle, and follower count) submitted to their own campaign. Campaign details posted by a brand are visible to signed-in creators browsing the board.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your account is active, or as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for (for example, a waitlist email until the board opens in your city, or a campaign's applications until the campaign has passed). You can ask us to delete your data at any time — see "Your rights" below.

Email communications and your consent

When you join the waitlist, we only send you an email when the board opens in your city — nothing else. We only send this because you explicitly checked a box confirming you want to receive it; we don't add anyone to our list without that direct action. Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time by emailing hello@influence-irl.app. If you have an account, we may also send you transactional emails related to your account or a campaign you're involved with (for example, a password reset) — these aren't marketing and aren't covered by the unsubscribe above, since they're necessary for the service to work.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain uses of it. This includes rights under the UK/EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) if you're in the UK or EU, and applicable Canadian and U.S. privacy laws depending on your location. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@influence-irl.app and we'll respond as promptly as we can.

International data transfers

Because our service providers operate infrastructure in multiple countries, your information may be processed in a country other than the one you live in, including outside the UK or EU. Where this happens, we rely on our providers' own safeguards for international transfers.

Children's privacy

Influence IRL is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect information from, anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product changes — for example, when payment processing is introduced. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do, and for significant changes, we'll make reasonable efforts to let account holders know directly.
